The IIHF scoring, applied for you
Three points for a win in regulation time, two after overtime or a shootout, one for a defeat after regulation time, none otherwise. The logbook counts your season’s points on this scale.
-
- Regulation time
- Overtime
- Shootout
3 ways a match can end
How the match ends is chosen up front, in regulation time by default. In a shootout the score is written 4-3, as on the sheet: the winner’s goal is added.
-
- Goaltender
- Defenseman
- Left wing
- Center
- Right wing
5 positions, from goaltender to right wing
The position played that evening is chosen up front. It is that, not your usual position, which brings up the goaltender’s figures.
-
In goal
The evening you keep goal
Saves and shots faced are noted, and the shutout is ticked. Goals conceded are worked out, and their average per 60 minutes as soon as you note the time spent in goal.

Goals in each period
The score of each of the three periods is noted for both teams. Your comebacks and your collapses are then read: the record by whether you are ahead, level or behind after two periods.
-

Plus-minus and penalties
The plus-minus is copied from the match sheet: the logbook cannot know who was on the ice for each goal. Your penalty minutes, and those of each team, add up month by month.

6 session focuses, and the list stays open
At training there is no score or end of match: you note what was worked on, several focuses at once. You add your own.

The score first, your evening after
A match is valid with its date, the opposing team, the score and home or away. How it ended is set on the record from the start: regulation time by default, overtime or shootout when needed.
Shootout- In a shootout, the score is written 4-3 as on the sheet; the shootout goals stay an optional detail.
- Position played, goals and assists, up front; the points are worked out.
- Under “More details”: shots on target, penalty minutes, plus-minus copied from the sheet, score of each period and team penalties.
- When the position played is goaltender: saves, shots faced, goals conceded and shutout are added.
Your season, match after match
Each line gives the score, how the match ended and what you did: your goals and points, or your saves and goals conceded when you kept goal.
- Wins and defeats, goals scored and conceded: never a draw, the shootout settles it.
- Two points for a win after overtime or a shootout, one point for a defeat after regulation time.
- Training sessions are filed with their focus, without score.
- The league matchday, the play-offs or the promotion play-off: each line says so.
Final place, promotion, relegation
The place read on the league’s website, promotion, survival or relegation are noted on the event. The team’s level, from Rég. to the Ligue Magnus, is dated at each change of division.
The Trophée Fédéral, beside the league
Each match is training, friendly, recreational or official: a player with a Competition licence and a Recreational licence reads them separately, match by match.
