Rigid Class 5
The class of your wing, first
Flex or rigid, the wing class is the first choice on the record and the first reading of the statistics. It separates your flights from one wing to the next when you change sail.
-
- On foot
- Winch-launched
- Aerotow
- Tow-launched
4 ways to take off
On foot from a slope or a cliff, by winch, towed behind a vehicle or a boat, or aerotowed behind a microlight. The take-off is chosen up front and reads by mode.
-
FAI triangle · 104 km
A cross country, with its course and its points
The distance read on the variometer, the shape of the course (free distance, out and return, flat triangle, FAI triangle) and the total of points as the FFVL Distance Cup publishes it, without recalculation.
-
3 best flights
The season of the FFVL Distance Cup
The three best flights of the season, from 1 September, added up from the points you noted; six for a platform ranking. The logbook does not recalculate the scoring table.
-
- Reserve used
- Hard landing
- Equipment damage
- Airspace violation
- In-flight collision
5 incidents, noted without judgement
Hard landing, equipment damage, airspace violation, reserve, collision: what happened, with no comment from the logbook. The analysis separates training, leisure flying and official flights.
-
Wing · Harness · Vario
Your equipment, with its dates
Each wing, harness and variometer name typed once comes back afterwards. The last reserve repack and the last wing service carry over from the previous flight, with no reminder or due date.
-
12th of 27
The tasks of a championship
For each task, the place, the ranked finishers, the bib, the category place and the published points; for the championship, the overall place, the total of points and the number of tasks.
-
- Initial
- Pilot
- Confirmed
- Tandem
- Activity leader
- Instructor
From the initial rating to federal instructor
The federal rating and its qualifications, each with its date: a personal milestone, never a ranking. 3 other rankings come with it: the World Pilot Ranking (WPRS), a platform ranking and the FFVL Distance Cup (CFD).

The class, the take-off, the distance
The wing class, the take-off, the role held, the flight type and the distance are up front; the equipment, the altitude, the gain and the points unfold when you want them.
146.2 km · 2,350 m · 28.3 km/h- Flex Class 1 or Sport, rigid Class 5 or 2: the class is chosen at the top.
- On foot, by winch, towed or aerotowed by a microlight, with the landing site apart.
- The gain, the variometer and the maximum altitude are copied from the instrument; the points, as published.
- The reserve parachute carried, the last reserve repack and the last wing service.
Your flights, from the most recent to the oldest
Each flight gives its wing class, its site and its duration, with its distance, maximum altitude and average speed when they are logged, and its labels for flight type, form of the day and character. Days with several flights are grouped together.
- A day with several flights is filed under a heading: the date, the number of flights, the site.
- Filters at the top of the list: by competition, solo, tandem, training.
- A tandem flight is logged apart, the passenger under “With”.
- The take-off site as the place, followed by the companions of the flight.
A class, a date, and it is logged
A flight counts with its date and the class of its wing; the take-off, the distance, the flight type and the equipment come when you feel like it.
Tandem, student, instructor
Tandem is a mode: the passenger is noted under “With”. The role held, pilot, student or instructor, is chosen once per flight and separates your training hours from your flights.
